Pupil Voice – School Council
Leopold’s School Council is made up of two members from each class, from reception up to year 6. Pupils in each class nominate who they would like to represent them at School Council. The nominated candidates are given one week to prepare a speech. After listening to the speeches, the class vote for one boy and one girl to become candidates.
The School Council meet every Thursday. Their job is to be the voice of their class. They make decisions such as which equipment to buy, which charities to support and which public events to visit.
The current issue the School Council is working on is “Keeping the Community Tidy”. The School Council has written to the local authority regarding rubbish that has been dumped near the school site. This has led to an increase in street cleaning in the area.
