  • Incident alert letter 30/11 /21

    Published 30/11/21

    Tuesday 30th November 2021

    Dear Parents/Carers,

I am writing to inform you that a local school has reported an attempted abduction on Brownlow Road on Friday 26th November 2021.

Two children were approached by a man in a van who claimed he knew their mother. The children responded by running to their parent who was waiting for them at the top of the road.

The incident has been reported to the police and the event is currently being investigated.

Attempted abductions are very rare; however, it remains vitally important that we remind children how to keep safe. If you wish to continue this conversation with your child, you may find helpful tips on this website: https:\\www.clevernevergoes.org

If your child is an independent traveller, please ensure that your child has the knowledge and maturity to respond to any unexpected situations. If you require any support or advice regarding this matter, please contact Miss Primus or the Heads of School.

    Yours sincerely,

    Mrs Obinwanne & Miss Harvey

    Heads of School

  • Flu Immunisation- 7th Dec

    Published 12/11/21

    Dear Parent/Guardian,

Your child’s annual flu vaccination is now due

This vaccination programme is in place to help protect your child against flu. Flu can be an unpleasant illness and sometimes causes serious complications.  Vaccinating your child will also help protect more vulnerable friends and family by preventing the spread of flu.

A consent  form was given out on Thursday 11th November. (one for each child) and return to the school at least 3 working days prior to the date of your school flu vaccination session to ensure your child receives their vaccination. Please be aware that if the form is not completed correctly, this may result in your child not receiving the vaccination on the day.

The vaccination is free and recommended for young children, and will be given by a quick and simple spray up the nose.

A leaflet explaining the vaccination programme is enclosed and includes details about the small number of children for whom the nasal vaccine is not appropriate.

Last year, most children offered the vaccine in schools had the immunisation.

If you have any queries, please contact the immunisation team on 01895 485740.

Please return the form back to the school office by Friday 19th November. For more information on the vaccination, please see information leaflet below.

    Yours sincerely,

    Immunisation Team

If your child becomes wheezy or has their asthma medication increased after you return this form, please contact the healthcare team on 01895 485740.

If you decide you do not want to vaccinate your child against flu, please return the consent form giving the reason. This will help us plan and improve the service.

  • Anti Bulling Week 15th-19th Nov

    Published 08/11/21

    Dear Parents and Carers,

Anti-Bullying week is taking place on Monday 15th to Friday 19th November.

It is an annual event to spread awareness about bullying and we will be working on this throughout the whole school.

The theme this year is 'One Kind Word'.

On Monday 15th November 2021, we ask that all children come to school wearing odd socks. This is to appreciate that we are all unique and different.

Your child should also bring a £1 donation for the Anti-Bullying Alliance so that they can continue their work towards eradicating bullying.

    Kind regards,

    Mrs Obinwanne/Ms Harvey
